Sniff was born when the Bank of New Zealand Save the Kiwi Trust (BNZSKT) asked Blue Orb to come up with a kiwi character that could be used to help educate school children in New Zealand.

Sniff is now an ambassador for the trust, and hosts the Kiwi Classroom on the BNZSKT website www.savethekiwi.org.nz.

Kiwi Classroom gives schools a range of resources for use in the classroom, including hard copy resource and information kits for the classroom, colouring contests, virtual kiwi field trips, and a range of information to help children better understand the plight of the kiwi.
