What we are up to
The Digital Strategy funding, combined with contributions of over $200,000, has allowed for the design and development of the This is the Place - Ko Tenei Te Wahi website, which went live on 30 September 2008. This funding covered the initial development of the site, from project management, to the technical design and build of the site, to content collection.

Alongside the technical design and build of the site, a small community liaison team, including writers, photographers and oral historians, gathered a range of content for the launch of the site. This work has been invaluable in giving individuals and groups within the communities of Northland a chance to guide and shape the project.

The design of the site encourages those who are taking their first steps in the computer world, with easy to follow pathways and a friendly environment for those unfamiliar with computers and technology. What better way to begin to contribute to the world wide web that with a story about your place?
